EXEMPLARY EDUCATOR AWARD

The Illinois Valley Central Board of Education is very proud of our educational staff and believes that staff members should be honored for their professional expertise. This award will be aligned to the State of Illinois’ “Those Who Excel” program.

The first Exemplary Educator recipients were recognized at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 school year. In May 2019, the Exemplary Educator Committee which is comprised of teachers, district administrators, and School Board representatives expanded the award to recognize district support staff as well. This award was named in memory of long-time IVC High School custodian Chet Coffey.

The Chet Coffey award recognizes non-certified staff members who exemplify Chet's dedication to the IVC School District and our students with an enthusiastic, caring, "can do" attitude.

Each recipient will be recognized at the annual Staff Recognition Luncheon in May, receive a recognition plaque, have their picture and name included in the Exemplary Educator Recognition plaque in their respective building, and receive a $250 honorarium.
